5 Tips for Your Bridal Makeup

To be honest, I didn’t think too much about my bridal makeup at first. But, in retrospect, I can give you some important tips!

I love makeup. However, if I do my own makeup daily, it’s more of a “no makeup look.” It is always very important to me that the skin has a nice glow, and I usually put makeup on eyeliner with a brown kohl pencil, then the eyelashes look fuller. I had something similar in mind for the makeup on my wedding day.

Here are my tips for your bridal makeup

1. GET YOUR MAKEUP DONE

While I was still a bit unsure about this article, a makeup artist for the wedding was definitely the right decision. Although I like to do my own makeup, I was glad that I didn’t have to draw eyeliner with a shaky hand and could just lean back. Okay, with eyebrows and lips, I preferred to lend a hand myself. But that’s probably an occupational disease.

2. MAKE A TRIAL APPOINTMENT FOR BRIDAL MAKEUP

When looking in the mirror, there shouldn’t be any surprises on the wedding day. And even with a natural bridal look, everyone has different ideas. So be sure to make a trial appointment and try everything out once.

3. THE MAKEUP NEEDS TO BE “PHOTOGENIC”

You want to look at the photos of your wedding ten years from now and don’t think, “Oh God, the powder made my face so pale that it is a different color than my neck.” So when doing the makeup test, take a few photos (outside and inside). Also, remember: the camera swallows the makeup. I wouldn’t have put on so much makeup for the wedding, but it looked just great and just right in the photos.

4. TAKE YOUR FAVORITE LIPSTICK

I’ve tried countless lipsticks – I’ve even done a Lipstick Challenge. That’s why I knew exactly that I wanted a rosewood shade for the wedding that wasn’t that matt. Use lipstick for your wedding that you know (and also own). Nothing is worse than not being able to retighten the lipstick because the makeup artist is no longer there later. Or if you notice that the lipstick is more on your teeth than on your lips. I made the absolutely right choice for myself with the “Cosmo” from MAC Cosmetics.

5. DEPOSIT POWDER AND LIPSTICK WITH A MATRON OF HONOR MAKEUP BAG

You won’t be walking around with a large bag at your wedding. And after the ceremony and the congratulations, you want to go straight to the photo session. Deposit a pressed powder (with a mirror) and a lipstick in your Matron of Honor handbag. Then you can quickly check and freshen everything up again before starting the photos.

And one more tip: don’t panic! Especially during the days before the wedding: keep your hands off your face. Do not push any red spots just because you think there is a tiny pimple somewhere.
